Leiden, also known as the city of discoveries, is a university city in the Dutch province of South Holland. It’s known for its centuries-old architecture and for Leiden University, which is the oldest university of the Netherlands which dates back to 1575.

The city has a rich cultural heritage and the birthplace of the painter Rembrandt. Leiden also hosts the annual Leiden International Film Festival and has a number of monuments and world class museums.
